Leap N' Learn

Leap N LearnAges 3 & 4 years - We are excited to implement our new Leap N' Learn early childhood dance program.  This wonderful program is a comprehensive early childhood dance syllabus that is based on children's physical, emotional and cognitive development.  It encourages creativity, self expression and fundamental movement skills.  Classes are 45 minutes in length.

Pre-Ballet

Age 5 years - We also implement our newly designed early childhood dance program, "Leap N' Learn".

Pre-Primary & Primary

Ages 6 - 7 years - These levels offer an introduction to the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus and, upon the teacher's discretion, children may be entered into a short formal examination conducted by the teacher and RAD examiner.

Grade One to Eight

Ballet Class

The eight grades provide a gradual progression in ballet training encouraging children to achieve a high technical standard, freedom of expression and love of dance.  Students may be examined in a formal setting to provide an independent evaluation of their dancing.  Students may be examined at a presentation level or a full grade level at the discretion of the teacher.

Vocational Level

Designed for those students showing technical skill or those wishing to pursue a career in dance at the performing or teaching level, the major levels provide an opportunity for committed students to further develop their technical skills.  Classes are offered from the Intermediate Foundation to the Advanced levels.  Pointe shoes are introduced at the vocational level.

Royal Academy of Dancing Ballet Presentations and Examinations

The Academy's patron is HM Queen Elizabeth II, and its influence has spread to 82 countries, with over 15,500 members.  There are currently 1,200 students in full-time or part-time teacher training programs with the Academy and each year, the examination syllabus is taught to more than 250,000 students world-wide.  Throughout the creation of our new Syllabus, there are certain factors we have borne constantly in mind.  Firstly, an awareness of how much children can learn through dance.  Secondly, that all children need to achieve, to feel the satisfaction of their own progress.  We know that some of your children will easily master Classical technique, and others who, through physical problems, may not.  To those children we offer the chance to excel by showing us their musicality, their feeling for movement and their love of dance.  We also want to provide the best possible grounding from which children can move up to higher levels of training.

PointeIt is also designed to sustain the child's interest and love of dance throughout the entire syllabus.  The Syllabus has been created as a complete training programme in Classical Ballet and is designed specifically for the amateur student, covering an age range of 5 to 19.  All students studying ballet will be notified in early fall if their teacher feels they are ready for their examination.  The examinations will take place in the spring (usually just before our spring break).
