Dress Code

Proper dance attire enables the teacher to see the dancers' positions and movement in order to give necessary corrections for the benefit of the dancer's education. A dress code also teaches discipline, which is important in an art as demanding as dance.

Dancer's Closet

At Panorama Dance we require a dress code to instill respect and discipline in relation to the art form. Having a dress code also ensures that dancers are properly attired to move and that teachers can ascertain if students are working their muscles safely.

If there are any questions please discuss dress code with your child’s dance instructor at the commencement of classes. All children are expected to conform to the dress code by the first week of October.

All shoes and clothing with the exception of tap shoes and pointe shoes will be available through our “Dancer’s Closet” dance supply store located at both the Ridge and Fleetwood locations. All items are professionally made. We will have a full range of sizes at reasonable prices.

Please help us to make the studio a respectful family atmosphere with no bare midriff or ‘cheeky’ shorts.

Hair Ballet Ballet Vocational Levels Jazz Stage Lyrical Hip Hop Tap

Hair

Hair must be tied up off neck and face.

Ballet and Lyrical students must have hair in a bun.

Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop students must wear hair up in a ponytail.

BOYS:

Ballet: white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, black ballet slippers

Jazz and Stage: white t-shirt, black shorts or exercise pants, white socks, jazz shoes

Ballet

Pearl – Ages 3 and 4 years

Pink princess tutu dress with flutter sleeve,  plain white ankle socks (no Lace), and pink ballet slippers with elastics.

‘Ballet pink’ tights may be worn during winter months or all year long.

Uniform to be purchased through our Dancer’s Closet Store.

Orchid 1 - 3 , Pre-Ballet, Pre-Primary & Primary Ballet

Pink tank style leotard, plain pink ballet skirt (no ruffles, sequins, tulle etc.), plain white ankle socks (no lace), and pink full sole ballet slippers with elastics.

‘Ballet pink’ tights may be worn during winter months or all year long.

Uniform to be purchased through our Dancer’s Closet Store.

Lavender 1 ~ Grade One Ballet

Lavender RAD approved Anna Princess Line leotards with adjustable ruche front and matching waist belt, ‘ballet pink’ tights and pink full sole leather ballet slippers with elastics. Panorama provides character skirts and shoes for an annual rental fee of $12.

Lavender 2 ~ Grade Two Ballet

Mulberry RAD approved Anna Princess Line leotards with adjustable ruche front and matching waist belt, ‘ballet pink’ tights and your choice of pink full sole or split sole, leather or canvas ballet slippers with elastics. Panorama provides character skirts and shoes for an annual $12 rental fee.

Lavender 3 ~ Grade Three Ballet

Maroon & Amethyst Vocational ~ Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1, Advanced 2

Navy or Black leotard, ‘ballet pink’ tights, ‘soft’ pointe shoes and pointe shoes required.

Jazz

Orchid to Lavender Jazz ~ Junior Levels

All levels require black jazz (exercise) pants or shorts, black camisole racer-back tank top, and beige jazz shoes.  Hair must be pulled back into a pony-tail or bun.

Fuscia, Maroon & Amethyst Jazz ~ Intermediate & Senior Levels

All levels require black jazz (exercise) pants or shorts and black athletic tank top. Fuscia must wear beige jazz shoes and Maroon and Amethyst must wear foot undeez.  Hair must be slicked back into a low ponytail or bun.

Competition

All levels require black jazz (exercise) pants or shorts and black athletic tank top. Orchid levels must wear beige jazz shoes and Lavender, Fuscia, Maroon and Amethyst must wear foot undeez.  Hair must be slicked back into a low ponytail or bun.

Stage

Lavender & Fuscia ~ Junior Levels

Amethyst Tap ~ Senior Levels

Acro

Orchid & Lavender Acro ~ Levels

All levels require leotard (any is fine), black shorts or leggings, NO TIGHTS and bare feet. Hair tied back. No jewelry except stud earrings.

Fuscia & Maroon ~ Intermediate Levels

All levels require leotard (any is fine), black shorts or leggings, NO TIGHTS and bare feet. Hair tied back. No jewelry except stud earrings.

Amethyst Acro ~ Senior Levels
